EXAMINER
A research project to develop a neuropsychological test battery that reliably and validly assesses domains of executive function
The overall goal of this 5 year project is to develop a neuropsychological test battery that reliably and validly assesses domains of executive function (often defined as the ability to engage in goal-oriented behavior) for clinical investigations and clinical trials that is adaptable across a wide range of ages and disorders. This will be done by collaborating with an expert advisory panel for test selection and field testing in no less than ten sites nationwide. Within the first two years, the pilot battery will be translated into Spanish and field tested at three sites, UCSF included. After the first two years and preliminary analyses of data collected from the three sites, field testing will commence at the remaining sites. There will be regular meetings with the advisory panel as well as in-person site visits carried out by the Principal and/or Co-Investigators, Project Director, or Research Coordinator from UCSF. After the fourth year of testing, Principal and Co-Investigators and advisory panel members will analyze all data collected, finalize the battery, develop scoring programs, summary scores, and a user’s manual, training modules, and training videos.
